Learn how to use the web app's Export Data feature to download secure backups and migrate your data between devices.

Data Backup & Migration
COO Studio’s web app includes an Export Data feature that downloads a secure JSON file to your local Downloads folder for backup purposes or to migrate your setup to a new device.
Exporting Your Data
- Open COO Studio in your browser
- Navigate to Settings > Data
- Click the Export Data button
- A secure JSON file containing all your encrypted data will be downloaded to your Downloads folder
Browser Downloads: The exported file appears in your browser's Downloads folder, just like any other downloaded file. You can then move it to external storage or secure cloud backup.
Importing Your Data
You can restore from a backup or move your data to a new device by importing the JSON file.
- Open COO Studio on your new device or browser
- Navigate to Settings > Data
- Click the Import Data button and select your exported JSON file
- Your certificates, products, and settings will be restored
Warning: Importing Replaces Everything. Importing a file will completely overwrite all data in the current browser storage. This action cannot be undone.
Moving to a New Computer
To transfer your COO Studio data to a new computer:
- On your old device: Export your data using the steps above
- Transfer the file: Move the downloaded JSON file to your new device (via USB drive, email, cloud storage, etc.)
- On your new device: Open COO Studio and import the file
Regular Backups
Since your data is stored in your browser’s local storage, we recommend:
- Exporting your data regularly (weekly or after major changes)
- Storing backups in multiple secure locations
- Testing your backup files occasionally by importing them
Browser Cache Warning: If you clear your browser's cache and cookies, your COO Studio data will be lost. Always maintain current backups using the Export feature.
